OMSO designs and manufactures printing machines that combine high performance, energy efficiency and environmental awareness. We believe in concrete sustainability, which translates into advanced technical solutions capable of reducing consumption and emissions, without compromising on quality and productivity.

More and more of our machine models are full LED and feature fully servo-driven movements with high-efficiency motors. Models marked with this symbol feature full LED systems for print curing and high-efficiency motors for reduced power consumption.
We have carried out field measurements to compare the energy performance of conventional mercury vapour lamps with the full LED technology used in OMSO printing systems. Each machine can be fitted with between 1 and 8 lamps depending on the number of colours installed.
Average energy consumption per lamp
Technology | Average consumption (kWh/h) | SAVINGS |
---|---|---|
Mercury vapour lamps | 10 kWh/h | - |
Full LED system | 2,5 kWh/h | -75% |
Environmental impact in terms of CO₂ equivalent
Technology | CO₂ generated (kg/h)* | REDUCTION |
---|---|---|
Mercury vapour lamps | 5,0 kg/h | - |
Full LED system | 1,25 kg/h | -75% |
Data refer to the consumption of a single lamp, measured on operational OMSO installations in 2024
* Conversion factor = 352.4 g of Co2 per KWh (Ref. Laboratory of Industrial Plant Design and Management Department of Engineering Science and Methods - Unimore University)
As is well known, a gradual ban on mercury vapour lamps, which are considered harmful to the environment and health, will come into force from December 2025 (Regulation (EU) 2023/2049).
Our full LED machines are already compliant with the regulation and are a sustainable and future-ready choice. Download the technical sheet.

We are available to evaluate together the possibility of upgrading installed machines, replacing obsolete technology with more efficient LED systems that comply with the new legislation. Write to support@omso.it for more information.

Our commitment does not stop. We continue to invest in innovative solutions to reduce consumption, improve ergonomics and promote a responsible approach to packaging decoration.
